Going to trips in Europe provide you with the opportunity to ski where the sport was born. The region offers a spectacularly beautiful setting where skiing is not merely a pastime but is deeply embedded in the culture. The refined food, local wine, regional architecture, and centuries-old culture also add to the appeal of the continent.

South America has loads of incredible high-alpine terrain, and the Andes will entrance you. Since the winter in South America does not coincide with North America, you can still ski even during the latter’s summer time.

There exists a seemingly endless amount of backcountry opportunities for you to try in the continent. You can enjoy these experiences while also tasting with delicious food and après.

Travelers to the Alps often go there to get as close to nature as possible. Given the breathtaking natural beauty of the region, it is the perfect place to immerse one’s self in the best of what Mother Nature has to offer while experiencing the rich history and mountain traditions that have been kept alive for centuries.

One of the best ways to experience the mountain’s culture is by staying in one of the area’s many rifugios or mountain huts. The term rifugi translates to mountain refuge, and the Alps rifugi offer a vast network of these mountain huts located throughout the region.

Ranging from simple and rugged to more comfortable amenities, the huts offer suitable and welcome shelter. The people who use them include walkers, mountaineers, skiers, and anyone desiring to get up close and personal with the beautiful terrain of the Alps.

The locations of the rifugios vary, each offering different experiences and unique scenic views. Some are easier to get to, while others can only be accessed on foot or skis or by cable car. Obviously, the higher and more remote the rifugio, the more amazing the views will be.

Some visitors describe the experience of being on the patio of some of those mountain huts as almost like sitting on the edge of the world. It is possible because of the gorgeous panoramic views of nature that can be seen from the huts.

Simple and rustic, yet comfortable and efficient, these mountain huts allow guests to truly experience what life in this rugged yet breathtaking region is all about. They can enjoy this while relaxing and enjoying the mouthwatering local dishes prepared to perfection. It is the ultimate way to experience the beauty of the Alps.

Experience the Dolomites!

You can ski in the winter and enjoy a ski tour in the spring. Our team can also help you go hiking, mountain climbing, and rock climbing in the Dolomites in the summer and fall. We organize ski trips, ski tours, ferratas, rock climbing, and biking trips in the Dolomites.

Our trips are based out of Cortina D’Ampezzo, where you can spend all night in town, a rifugi, or a combination. This place is the ultimate town for all seasons. It’s a ridiculously beautiful town, with small cafes, luxury shops, 18th-century buildings, and a mountain backdrop at every turn.

The Dolomites

The Dolomite mountain range is located in Northeastern Italy. They are one of the most scenic mountains in the world and are a UNESCO World Heritage site with people that offers delicious food.

The mountain range is also renowned for skiing, mountain climbing, and rock climbing. The rock that can be found in the mountains, called Dolomite, has lots of features, which makes for an amazing rock climbing experience.

There is a superb network of rifugi in the area so you can ski from rifugio to rifugio. This can also be done for hiking and trekking.

There is a system of via ferrata, Italian for iron path, which is protected climbing routes with cable. This allows for a climber to be clipped on the cable at any time for otherwise dangerous routes to be undertaken.

The system offers relatively inexperienced climbers a means of enjoying dramatic views and positions and accessing difficult peaks. This becomes possible without the risks associated with unprotected scrambling and climbing, or the need for climbing equipment such as ropes.

Trekking the Selvaggio Blu, the “Wild Blue” Trek in Sardinia

Although few English speakers know of it, the Selvaggio Blu is known as the toughest and most challenging hiking trip in Italy. However, the trekking route has evolved to accommodate a backpacking adventure, which is by far the best way—perhaps the only way—to explore one of Sardinia’s few undeveloped pockets.

The Wild Blu Trek goes for 50 km along the east side of Sardinia, in the region called Ogliastra. The route follows the jagged coastline between the two villages of Santa Maria Navarrese and Cala Gonone.

An Adventure You Should Have

Trekking in the Selvaggio Blu is an experience that an adventurous person surely should have. If you are in good physical shape, have steady feet, no problems dealing with exposed terrain, and no fear of heights, this trip is for you.

The trek includes multiple rappels and is the most amazing outdoor-week you can experience all around Europe. Even more, it is the best backpacking adventure you can have in one of the most beautiful and wildest corners in Italy.

The rewards for braving the terrain are spectacular. After getting to sleep in caves facing the blue Mediterranean Sea and not seeing any other people except your group, you can enjoy the gorgeous landscape the region has to offer.
